Features: Acupuncture and moxibustion are important components of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), and acupuncture is an effective means of treating diseases. It has been applied in clinical practice as early as the pre-Qin period. By the Jin Dynasty, with the publication of Zhenjiu Jiaoyi Jing (Acupuncture and Moxibustion Classics of the Jia and Yi Schools) by Huangfu Mi as a milestone, acupuncture and moxibustion had matured from theory to practice into a well-structured discipline. At this point, acupuncture and moxibustion as a discipline began to move toward maturity. By the mid-20th century, acupuncture and moxibustion had rapidly spread worldwide, laying an important scientific foundation.
