How are the symptoms of vaginal polyps caused?

Patient's question:

How are the symptoms of vaginal polyps caused? How much does the surgery cost approximately? Can the hymen still be repaired in this situation? Thank you

Doctor's answer:

The cervix is the lower part of the uterus, with its lumen being cylindrical or spindle-shaped, known as the cervical canal. Its upper end is the internal os, and its lower end is the external os. The surface of the cervical canal is covered by a layer of mucosa. Due to long-term stimulation from chronic inflammation, the mucosa of the cervical canal undergoes continuous hyperplasia and accumulation, projecting from the basal layer of the mucosa toward the external os of the cervix, thus forming polyps. The roots of most polyps are attached to the cervical canal or the external os of the cervix. They are generally small, with diameters typically less than 1 centimeter, and can be single or multiple. There are also larger polyps, with diameters reaching several centimeters, stalked, and protruding outside the cervical os as they grow. Small polyps remain within the cervical canal and rarely appear at the cervical os.
