Features: Whether it's the grand landscapes of Bashan and Shu, the misty Huangshan mountains, or the intimate scenes of Jiaodong households and snowy landscapes of Changbai, Sun Wende's landscape paintings are characterized by bold and vigorous brushwork, rich ink and color, and a lively touch. Each piece presents layered mountains, lush trees, changing clouds and mist, and a myriad of atmospheric effects. His paintings reveal depth amidst simplicity, freedom amidst elegance, richness and vitality with flowing artistic spirit, and brilliance while maintaining restraint. The charm and style of his works are derived from the meticulous brushwork, ink application, and dynamic compositions, embodying the essence of Huang Shi's landscape tradition, which Sun Wende has deeply absorbed and internalized through introspection.
