Features: To adapt to the growing development of China's shipbuilding industry, shipping, fishing, marine development, and naval construction, and to meet the needs of a wide range of professionals engaged in ship research, design, teaching, production, and use for reading and translating Russian shipbuilding technical materials, as well as to promote international scientific and technological exchange and better serve the realization of the four modernizations of socialism, the China Society of Naval Architects and the National Defense Industry Press, based on the requirements of the former Sixth Ministry of Machine Industry, the Ministry of Transportation, the former National Aquatic Products Industry Administration, and the Navy, commissioned the Shanghai China Ship and Ocean Engineering Design and Research Institute to organize the compilation of this "Russian-Chinese Shipbuilding Technical Dictionary." This dictionary is a comprehensive one, containing over 100,000 entries. It includes terms from more than 30 fields such as ship theory, ship design, ship power, ship auxiliary machinery, ship electrical systems, communication and navigation, naval armament, computer technology, marine development, fishing machinery, and hydraulic port operations. The dictionary also includes 11 appendices such as technical idioms and phrases, common and technical abbreviations, abbreviations of measurement units, the Beaufort Wind Force Scale, the Wave Height Scale, the Visibility Scale, the table of major ship classification societies in various countries, and accompanying illustrations, for reference.
