Can I get pregnant after chocolate cyst surgery?

Patient's question:

Last October in the middle of the month, I had laparoscopic surgery for chocolate cysts. Last month, an ultrasound revealed cysts, and I suspect my old condition has recurred. However, the doctor said it's a corpus luteum left after ovulation. If it's a chocolate cyst, can medication solve the problem now that it's small? I currently experience some pain before and during my period—is it a recurrence of the chocolate cyst? What should I pay attention to in daily life?

Doctor's answer:

Hello: It's best to wait and see. It's not certain whether it's a recurrence.
Precautions:
1. Maintain a positive mood and avoid mental stress or emotional fluctuations. Some individuals may experience lower abdominal bloating, back pain, breast tenderness, mild diarrhea, fatigue, drowsiness, emotional instability, irritability, or tendency to depression during their menstrual period, which are all normal and should not cause undue anxiety.
2. Pay attention to hygiene to prevent infection. Keep the external genital area clean. Sexual intercourse is strictly forbidden during menstruation. Stay warm and avoid cold exposure. Avoid overexertion. Those with heavy menstrual flow should avoid consuming brown sugar.
3. Underwear should be soft, cotton, and have good ventilation. Wash and change it frequently, and ensure the underwear is dried in the sun.
4. Avoid cold, sour, spicy, or other irritating foods. Drink plenty of water to maintain regular bowel movements. Those with blood heat should consume more fresh fruits and vegetables before menstruation and avoid stimulating foods like garlic, onions, leeks, and ginger. Individuals with poor blood circulation and qi deficiency should increase their nutritional intake, such as milk, eggs, soy milk, pork liver, spinach, pork, chicken, and lamb, while avoiding cold fruits and vegetables.
