I have moderate to severe cervical erosion and adnexitis, how do I treat it?

Patient's question:

Detailed medical condition and consultation purpose: After giving birth to my child, I had a mild cervical erosion checked. Now my child is 3 years old, and recently I've noticed increased white discharge that is yellow and thick. A check-up revealed vaginitis, adnexitis, and moderate to severe cervical erosion. Is this very serious? The doctor only prescribed Rishu Wash, Fuyanling, and Guizhi Fuling capsules. Is there a better method? I've learned that adnexitis and moderate to severe cervical erosion seem to be difficult to cure—is that true? What should I do? If I undergo microwave treatment, how much will it cost? Can you give me some advice? Should I continue with medication or something else?

Doctor's answer:

Hello: Cervical erosion is a common inflammation of the female reproductive tract, which is divided into three degrees—mild, moderate, and severe—based on the proportion of the erosion area on the cervix. Treatment methods include non-invasive and invasive treatments. Local treatment using medication applied vaginally is a non-invasive approach, but this method is not very effective for cervical erosion of moderate or greater severity. Invasive treatment methods involve local cervical treatment using phototherapy, cryotherapy, laser, electrocautery, and other techniques. This approach may cause minor damage to the cervix locally and sometimes affect its ability to dilate during childbirth, but it does not lead to infertility. In fact, severe cervical erosion or acute infections combined with it, if left untreated, can result in infertility. Therefore, for women who have never been pregnant and suffer from cervical erosion without affecting pregnancy or acute infections, cervical laser treatment can be performed after childbirth.
