If I say the name Kafka, people will ask who I’m talking about. If I say he is an Austrian of Jewish descent, who is now a Czech, people will look down on him as an outsider. But if I say he might be the greatest writer of this century, people will think of me as an harmless lunatic.----->
Recommended Franz Kafka was born in 1883 into a Jewish merchant family in Prague under the rule of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. His father was a successful businessman, the owner of a clothing store, and had a volatile temper. He usually educated his children through suppression, "autocracy is like tyranny," he often scolded his children. Born weak, gentle in nature, and extremely sensitive to everything around him, the harsh control of his father left a deep shadow in his heart. This made him repeatedly portray authoritarian pressure in his later works, always maintaining a cautious reflection through this authoritarianism.
