When will menstruation come after a natural miscarriage?

Patient's question:

I naturally miscarried on November 12th, which was around 50 days into my pregnancy. At the time, the hospital examination showed that there were no remaining tissues in my uterus, so they didn't perform a D&C procedure. I took some anti-inflammatory medication, and the bleeding stopped after about five or six days. Originally, I planned to wait for one menstrual cycle, and then my husband and I would stop using contraception because we wanted to have a child sooner. However, my period still hasn't arrived yet? I'm not sure if this is normal.
On December 5th, I went to the hospital for a follow-up check-up, which included an ultrasound and blood tests. The doctor said all my indicators were normal. At the time, I forgot to ask him when my period was expected to return.

Doctor's answer:

About 22 days after the flow, the ovaries recover their ovulation function, and menstruation usually comes around 1 month later. However, some people may delay it by a few days. Generally, menstruation within 40 days is considered normal. You can take Motherwort ointment and have an ultrasound at the hospital to check the thickness of the endometrium. It usually doesn't come this quickly. Wait for a while and check again. It will gradually recover. Don't worry, and try to stay calm. Avoid fatigue and get proper rest in the evenings and mornings.
