Features: This monograph, as a research outcome of the "Informationization of Archives and Social Development" project, primarily focuses on elaborating on the content related to the informatization of archives from theoretical and macro-level perspectives, including the significance, objectives, tasks, principles, strategies, and standards of archive informatization construction. It does not cover the other aspect of informatization construction implementation that needs to be addressed—hardware and software technology. To facilitate readers' understanding of the book's content, the editors have included the "Implementation Plan for National Archive Informatization Construction" issued by the National Archives Administration of China in the appendix, which outlines clear requirements for archive informatization. Additionally, with the authors' consent, we have also included two articles specifically documenting the construction of the digital archive at the Qingdao Municipal Archives and the archive information website at the Shanghai Municipal Archives in the appendix. These two institutions have accumulated considerable practical experience in digital archive and website construction that is worth referencing.
