Features: Interior design is an activity where humans create and improve the quality of their living environment. More precisely, it should be called interior environmental design. As human ability to transform the objective world continues to improve, people's demands for the quality of their living environment are also increasing. In China, the rapid economic development in recent years and the continuous improvement of housing space have made interior design a trend. People are increasingly demanding the artistic and scientific qualities of their indoor spaces, which undoubtedly places higher requirements on interior environmental designers. As a designer, one must express their creativity and ideas so that the audience can understand them. There are many ways for interior designers to present their creative concepts. For example: floor plans, ceiling plans, elevation drawings, furniture drawings, section drawings, etc. However, these methods have significant limitations and require people with certain professional knowledge to understand them, even with some imagination from the reader. To express the designer's ideas intuitively and make them clear at a glance, perspective renderings, also known as interior perspective presentations, must be used. A good perspective rendering reflects the designer's design ability and painting skills, as well as their comprehensive artistic cultivation, and can even be a key to the success or failure of a design. Therefore, as an excellent designer, artistic foundational skills are essential. This includes perspective and composition skills, sketching and drawing skills, as well as color knowledge. "Artistically reproducing reality" is a higher realm of interior design renderings. This requires designers to fully understand and grasp the key points and various details of the design, including design styles and other characteristics. Depending on the design, different presentation methods should be chosen, and the should be artistically processed to create an environment atmosphere that matches the design object.
The development of modern technology has made computers an essential part of our lives. In design, they can significantly reduce our workload. At the same time, the powerful functions of computers can realistically simulate some real-life scenes, even complex lighting and materials, thereby accurately expressing the designer's intentions. Therefore, in this book, we have also included the methods of drawing computer renderings. The widespread use of computers cannot completely replace hand-drawn sketches, as designers always need to create numerous hand-drawn sketches in the preliminary stages of a project. Additionally, computers still have limitations in handling some complex effects, such as certain decorative renderings. These require us to master a solid foundation in perspective and hand-drawn drawing techniques.
Modern perspective drawing provides methods for depicting perspective phenomena in various scenarios. In practice, we must be able to integrate and apply these methods to efficiently determine the outlines of specific perspective spaces. At the same time, to achieve a perfect rendering, we must also beautify and refine the outlines of the perspective drawings. This requires foundational knowledge in sketching and color, with detailed methods discussed in the rendering techniques section of this book. Through the study of this book, we hope everyone can master various methods of drawing interior renderings and flexibly apply them, learning to generalize and expand their skills.
