Not enough round follicles, what to do?

Patient's question:

Doctor, hello. During this menstrual cycle, on day 5, there was a dominant follicle of 1112 on the left side and a follicle of 77 on the right side. On day 19, there was a dominant follicle of 2212 on the left side and a follicle of 1913 on the right side. On day 22, the follicle on the left side disappeared, and the follicle on the right side was 2515 in size.
Could you please tell me if it's possible for the follicle on the left side to be pregnant, as I had intercourse around day 19? If not, can the follicle on the right side still be fertile? I heard from the doctor that the follicle isn't growing round enough. Is there any way to make it grow rounder and ensure it can be released normally? Please advise, thank you.

Doctor's answer:

Advantageous follicles generally appear as round ones, such as 1818 or 1825, with good tension. Elliptical follicles have extremely poor tension, and even if fertilization and pregnancy occur, it is very easy to miscarry, leading to poor embryo quality. This indicates the presence of a pathological condition, which can be cured through treatment. There are many factors contributing to poor follicular development, such as luteinization of the follicle, premature ovarian failure, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and endocrine dysregulation of gonadal hormones. Therefore, it is recommended that you visit a specialized infertility treatment hospital for a thorough examination to identify the underlying cause and receive targeted treatment.
