Features: To ensure the survival and development of Taoism, it must undergo reform to adapt to the needs of modern society. Taoism cannot follow the old path of folk modernization. The secularization theory of Western Enlightenment thought has failed to explain the history and reality of religious development, while the "religious market theory" that borrows market economy principles can provide valuable insights for the modernization of Taoism. Taoism must adapt to a market-oriented society by adopting flexible and effective preaching methods, cultivating highly skilled practitioners, and particularly strengthening the awareness of serving believers. It should demonstrate the unique characteristics of its traditional heritage in competition.
