Literary Theory: A New Edition (Revised Version)

Author: Edited by Tong Qingbing
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2005-11-01
Features: The compilation of this textbook is guided by the principle of establishing writing concepts while prioritizing "classic texts" that have been tested by time. Therefore, in each chapter, two (three in Chapter 4) articles by renowned literary theorists or writers from ancient and modern China and the world are selected as part of the content. Through detailed annotations and three sections—"Author Introduction," "Background Knowledge," and "Text Interpretation"—the charm of the "classic texts" is revealed. Since "classic texts" address specific issues and cannot fully cover broader literary theories, each chapter also includes a "General Overview of Related Issues," designed to provide supplementary explanations and systematic interpretations of certain types of problems. Each chapter of this textbook consists of two parts:
1. Classic Text Reading
2. General Overview of Related Issues
If the former is a "fragment," the latter is the "whole picture." They complement each other, each bringing out the strengths of the other.
