Features: Policy science, as an interdisciplinary subfield of political science, management, business administration, sociology, and other disciplines, has experienced rapid development since its formation in the 1950s. Since the 1980s, China has also witnessed a surge in policy science research. However, summarizing the significant literature on public policy both domestically and internationally over the past half-century reveals that the field of public policy research primarily focuses on three areas: the policy science system (methodology), policy process research, and sectoral public policy. There is little discussion specifically addressing the actors, processes, and effectiveness of local public policy at the local level. From the perspective of the book's topic, it is clear that it is an attempt to examine the normative, actual, and potential aspects of local public policy through the lens of political science analysis, focusing on four perspectives: political rationality, political norms, political experience, and political development. In terms of research methods, it strives to combine the strengths of rational analysis, normative analysis, and empirical analysis. In terms of research content, it aims to explore the macro and micro aspects of local public policy, as well as its current status and future directions.
