Features: Zhu Tingguang was an outstanding academic organizer and a highly accomplished scholar. The collection presented to the readers records the arduous journey of Researcher Zhu Tingguang in contributing to the development of the discipline of world history in China. Zhu Tingguang was not only a scholar but also a warrior, or to put it another way, he was primarily a warrior. This was not only because he was once a "little red kid" in the family of the People's Liberation Army, fighting for the freedom, independence, and liberation of the Chinese people across the country, but also because in the construction of the discipline of world history in China, he always took the lead and fought tirelessly as long as he had breath, making an irreplaceable and significant contribution to its development. During his tenure as Director of the Institute of World History at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Zhu Tingguang made the institute vibrant and achieved remarkable results. He placed great emphasis on the cultivation of middle-aged and young researchers, going to great lengths to help them grow professionally. From my personal experience, he had Chen Xiangchao, who originally studied Italian, graduate under my supervision; he also recommended Wu Yin to apply for my doctoral program. Under his care, a group of middle-aged and young scholars gradually matured and have now become the backbone of the world history field in China. Comrade Zhu Tingguang adhered to the principle of an open institute, widely connecting with world history scholars from major universities and colleges in China. He held great respect for the elderly scholars like Professor Wu Yujin and had planned to invite them to support the writing of a multi-volume world history, though this plan was ultimately not realized, but it reflects his foresight and wisdom. With his support, Donghua Normal University established a specialized institution for researching World War II. Similar examples are numerous.
