Features: Food therapy, as the name implies, refers to dietary plans made from food or edible medicinal ingredients, combined with seasonings, and prepared through various cooking methods. These dishes are not only highly nutritious but also help prevent and treat diseases, as well as promote health and fitness. Traditional Chinese medicine theory holds that food therapy and medicinal diets are particularly suitable for reinforcing the body's vital energy and strengthening its foundation. This is because the foods and medicinal ingredients used in food therapy are often tonics, appearing as food but possessing medicinal properties. They leverage the properties of medicinal ingredients while incorporating the flavors of food, working synergistically to achieve the effects of "food aiding medicine and medicine enhancing food." This dual function combines the benefits of medicinal treatment and dietary care. In disease prevention and treatment, it rivals pure medicinal treatment in effectiveness. Precisely for this reason, we have compiled this "New Series of Health Preservation and Food Therapy," aiming to fully utilize China's rich culinary culture and cooking methods to serve readers, empowering the general public to take charge of their health and, as much as possible, reduce the financial burden of medical expenses for patients.
Browsing through ancient literature, the content on traditional Chinese medicine food therapy and medicinal diets is vast and profound, with countless treasures to draw upon. When selecting and compiling this series, we strove to refine the essence, discard the superficial, simplify the complex, and categorize, summarize, distill, and elevate the collected historical and modern medicinal diet resources. Based on the principles of scientific rigor, practicality, and feasibility, we formed six sub-books: Female Beauty and Health Recipes, Male Strength and Health Recipes, Senior Health and Longevity Recipes, Children's Nutrition and Health Recipes, Common Health Preservation and Care Recipes, and Home Common Illness Management Recipes. Each sub-book presents the preparation methods of food therapy and medicinal diets for various conditions in simple and accessible language, scientifically and systematically. Each medicinal diet recipe is detailed from four aspects: "ingredients," "effects," "preparation," and "usage," concise yet comprehensive, to ensure readers can "understand, learn, and apply."
Although food therapy and medicinal diets are diverse and proven effective, not every recipe is suitable for everyone. This is because individual constitutions vary, and clinical manifestations differ. Therefore, when selecting and applying food therapy, one should follow the principle of syndrome differentiation in traditional Chinese medicine to choose recipes based on one's specific condition.

This book is part of the Health Preservation and Food Therapy Series, drawing on the essence of modern and ancient food therapy and medicinal diets, integrating health, strength, and disease treatment.
