Features: Food therapy, as the name implies, refers to dietary plans made from food or edible medicinal ingredients, combined with seasonings, using various cooking methods. These diets are not only highly nutritious but also help prevent and treat diseases, as well as promote health and fitness. According to traditional Chinese medicine theory, food therapy and medicinal diets are most suitable for reinforcing the body's fundamental health. This is because the foods and medicinal ingredients used in food therapy are often tonics, appearing as food but acting as medicine. They take the properties of medicinal ingredients while leveraging the flavors of food, working together in synergy to achieve the dual effects of food aiding medicine and medicine enhancing food. In disease prevention and treatment, they are as effective as pure medicinal treatments. Precisely for this reason, we have compiled this "New Series of Health Preservation and Food Therapy," aiming to fully utilize China's rich culinary culture and cooking methods to serve readers, empowering the public to take charge of their health and thereby reduce the financial burden of medical expenses for patients as much as possible.
Browsing through ancient literature, the content related to traditional Chinese medicine food therapy and medicinal diets is vast and profound, with countless treasures to choose from. When selecting and compiling this series, we strove to refine the essence, discard the dross, and simplify the complex, based on extensive collection of historical and modern medicinal diet. Guided by the principles of scientific rigor, practicality, and feasibility, we categorized, summarized, refined, and elevated the information, resulting in six sub-books: Female Beauty and Health Recipes, Male Strength and Health Recipes, Elderly Health and Longevity Recipes, Children's Nutrition and Health Recipes, Common Health Preservation and Food Therapy Recipes, and Household Common Illness Management Recipes. Each sub-book presents the preparation methods of food therapy and medicinal diets for various conditions in simple and accessible language. Each medicinal diet recipe is detailed in four aspects: "Ingredients," "Effects," "Preparation," and "Usage," concise yet comprehensive, to help readers "understand, learn, and apply."
Although food therapy and medicinal diets are diverse and highly effective, not every recipe is suitable for everyone. This is because individual constitutions vary, and clinical manifestations differ. Therefore, when selecting and applying food therapy, one should follow the principles of traditional Chinese medicine syndrome differentiation and choose recipes based on their specific condition.
Cook with love, prepare dishes with heart. This book is part of the Health Preservation and Food Therapy Series, drawing from the essence of modern and ancient food therapy and medicinal diets, integrating health, strength, and disease treatment. It provides detailed introductions to dozens of nutritious and delicious dishes suitable for daily health preservation and food therapy.
