Features: The Eight Immortals are eight deities in Taoist folklore, renowned for their ability to punish evil, promote goodness, and aid the poor. The legends of the Eight Immortals date back to the Tang Dynasty, with the existence of "The Legend of the Eight Immortals," though their names were not yet fixed. It was not until the Ming Dynasty novel "The Journey to the East" by Wu Yuantai that the Eight Immortals were definitively identified as Iron Crutch Li, Zhongli Quan, Zhang Guolao, Lü Dongbin, Lan Caihe, Han Xiangzi, Cao Guo, and He Xianggu. To seek peace and well-being, people often display images of the Eight Immortals in courtyards, door lintels, or hang them in the main hall. They have also permeated daily life, giving rise to items like the "Eight Immortals Table" and "Eight Immortals Pavilion." Generations of painters have shown great interest in this theme. For instance, Yuan Dynasty painter Yan Hui, Qing Dynasty painters Ren Bo'nan, Huang Shen, and Min Zhen, as well as modern artists Li Xia and Qi Baishi, have all created works featuring the Eight Immortals. With their keen artistic minds and genuine affection for the Eight Immortals, they have demonstrated their talents, portraying the unrestrained and defiant personalities of the Eight Immortals, their extraordinary abilities to defy the heavens, their spirit of aiding the poor and suppressing the wealthy, and their fearless, unrestrained attitude. They have brought the Eight Immortals from the ethereal realm of gods back to the mortal world.
