The recently concluded 5th Plenary Session of the 16th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China proposed the main goals for economic and social development during the 11th Five-Year Plan period, particularly emphasizing the improvement of income levels and quality of life for urban and rural residents, as well as the goals and tasks of building a socialist new countryside. This is a requirement for implementing the Scientific Outlook on Development and building a harmonious society. In other words, addressing the "three rural issues" is a key component of the national 11th Five-Year Plan. This book examines this significant topic from the perspectives of rural development and farmers' income, attempting to answer the relevant theoretical questions that need to be addressed in the formulation and implementation of the 11th Five-Year Plan.
