Features: The National Legal Master Entrance Examination is a selective examination uniformly implemented by pilot institutions for the professional degree of Legal Master. The purpose of the training plan is to cultivate a large number of applied and composite legal talents with both professional knowledge and legal expertise, capabilities, and qualities. It aims to scientifically regulate the enrollment, training, and process of Legal Master professional degree education, further improve China's training structure and degree system for high-level legal talents, and enable legal graduate education to meet the diverse urgent needs of high-level legal talents in various fields of legal practice, political life, economic life, and social life. Strengthening the assessment of relevant abilities and development potential for legal work is a prominent feature and fundamental working approach of the examination. In response to China's socialist market economy and the rule of law for high-level applied legal talent, the 13th meeting of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee approved the report on establishing the Legal Master professional degree in 1995. In June 1999, the Office of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee and the Legal Education Department of the Ministry of Justice forwarded the "Guiding Training Program for Legal Master Graduate Students" revised by the Secretariat of the National Legal Master Professional Degree Education Guidance Committee. In 2005, the joint examination of the pilot institutions for the Legal Master professional degree (academic education) was implemented. Legal Master professional degree graduate education does not admit undergraduate law graduates (including those with equivalent qualifications) but only non-law graduates with a university bachelor's degree (or equivalent qualifications) from the national education system. The reason for this measure is that Legal Master professional degree education is an important channel for cultivating high-level applied and composite legal talents, and increasing the cultivation of applied and composite talents is a major task of legal graduate education. This reform measure is beneficial in maximizing the social benefits of legal higher education resources, maximizing the special educational function and role of the Legal Master professional degree, and also facilitating the organizational work of pilot institutions during the training process. For law undergraduates, it is encouraged to apply for postgraduate studies in law. Employees who meet the conditions can apply for part-time Legal Master professional degree programs. The Legal Master Entrance Examination includes two subjects: Professional Foundation (including Criminal Law and Civil Law) and Comprehensive Subjects (including Jurisprudence, Constitutional Law, and Chinese Legal History), each worth 150 points. Currently, 39 universities have been approved by the Ministry of Education to enroll Legal Master students, and the number of applicants has been increasing year by year. The Ministry of Education decided that starting from 2004, the work of the Legal Master Entrance Examination would no longer be handled by the National Legal Master Professional Degree Education Guidance Committee but instead by the National Education Examination Center, marking a new phase for the Legal Master Entrance Examination. According to the requirements of the National Education Examination Center, the Legal Master Entrance Examination not only assesses candidates' legal knowledge but also their ability to apply basic knowledge and principles of related disciplines, accurately use legal language, and demonstrate legal thinking skills such as logical analysis, reasoning, and argumentation. To help candidates master the content of each subject in the Legal Master Entrance Examination, familiarize themselves with the question types, and improve their scoring ability through effective pre-examination question training, we organized legal master entrance examination tutoring experts from renowned law schools such as Peking University, Tsinghua University, and China University of Political Science and Law to compile this series of tutoring books.
