Post-coital chest pain, what's going on?

Patient's question:

The 7th day of the menstrual cycle has ended. On the 12th, I had sexual intercourse with my husband, and we were not planning to have a child. I used a condom. Since the 14th, my breasts have started to hurt, and the pain has lasted for four or five days without stopping. What could be the reason for this?

Doctor's answer:

According to the situation you described, after the period, due to the decline in hormone levels in the body, there may be breast tenderness and pain. This could also be caused by breast hyperplasia. It's also possible that you might be pregnant. It is recommended to visit a regular Grade A hospital's breast department for a follow-up examination, undergo ultrasound and other relevant tests to identify the cause and provide symptomatic treatment. Alternatively, you can have blood drawn 10 days after intercourse to test for HCG. If the HCG level is below the normal range, it proves that you are pregnant.
