Features: Newly Compiled College German is developed based on the Teaching Syllabus for College German (Second Edition). This textbook is designed for undergraduate students in science, engineering, liberal arts, management, and other disciplines who are beginners in learning German. It can also serve as a foundational textbook for German language training. With the higher requirements for university foreign language teaching in the new century, this textbook, based on the provisions and quantitative indicators of the new syllabus, places greater emphasis on cultivating students' practical language application skills, particularly communicative competence. Newly Compiled College German consists of four volumes, each with a student book and a teacher book. Main texts, listening comprehension, and unit vocabulary are accompanied by audio cassettes. Except for the phonetics section in the first volume, each unit in this textbook is composed of eight parts: introduction, main text, exercises, communicative intent, listening, reading, grammar overview, and unit vocabulary list. The units in the first volume are dedicated to phonetics, requiring approximately 12 hours to complete. The nine units in the Basic Course each require about 6 hours. The remaining time is allocated for review and exams. Adjustments can be made based on specific teaching situations.
