Features: This dictionary selects over 1,000 commonly used words in modern Chinese and provides corrections for their frequent misuse. The selected words mainly include nouns, verbs, adjectives, as well as some fixed phrases, with a small number of other types of words. The dictionary analyzes and corrects usage errors from perspectives such as word meaning, part of speech, the subject of word usage, the object of word reference, collocation, word connotation, and the nuance of word meaning. The dictionary does not discuss issues of non-standard word forms. If other textual errors are found in the misused example sentences cited, they are also corrected, but generally without detailed analysis. The misused example sentences cited are limited to the everyday reading range of the reviser. The reviser's work is random rather than sampling-based. Therefore, this dictionary cannot serve as a judgment basis for the word usage level of certain published materials.
