Features: On January 6, 2006, General Secretary Hu Jintao of the Communist Party of China delivered an important speech at the Sixth Plenary Session of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, which is a programmatic document guiding the Party's construction. On January 25, 2006, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, the Central Organization Department, and the Central Propaganda Department jointly issued a notice, calling for serious study and implementation of General Secretary Hu Jintao's important speech at the Sixth Plenary Session of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, and for effectively implementing the study and implementation of the Party Constitution, comprehensively advancing the great new project of Party construction, and providing strong guarantees for implementing the scientific development concept, building a socialist harmonious society, and comprehensively building a moderately prosperous society. To support this learning campaign, we have organized scholars engaged in the theory of Party construction and the study of the Party Constitution to compile this supplementary reading material, based on the spirit of General Secretary Hu Jintao's speech and the new Party Constitution adopted at the Sixteenth National Congress, as well as combining Comrade Wu Guanzheng's work report. We hope this material will provide helpful assistance to the learning campaign.
