Features: Medical management is a crucial guarantee for establishing normal medical work order and improving the quality of medical services in hospitals. Currently, medical institutions are facing both favorable development opportunities and severe challenges. With the simultaneous implementation of three reforms in China—urban workers' basic medical insurance system, healthcare system, and drug production and circulation system—more domestic and foreign capital has entered the medical market after China's entry into the WTO. This has brought advanced technologies and management methods, creating a new landscape with coexistence of multiple ownerships and business models, as well as a fair and competitive medical service system. These changes have placed new demands on medical institutions and their managers. How to adapt to the development of the socialist market economy, how to build modern hospitals to meet the healthcare needs of the public—these questions require responses and solutions from medical institutions and hospital managers. Since most hospital managers come from clinical professionals, their management knowledge and skills often do not align with the hospital's reform, development, and modernization efforts. To better assist hospital presidents and management personnel at all levels in strengthening their foundational training, especially for reviewing basic theories and knowledge of hospital management, the Jiangsu Provincial Health Department commissioned the Jiangsu Hospital Management Society to revise and supplement the "Review Questions and Solutions for Hospital Management Knowledge of Hospital Management Cadres in Jiangsu Province," published in June 1994. This led to the creation of the "Guidelines for Three-Basis Training of Medical Personnel in Medical Institutions (Hospital Management Edition)." The contributors to this book are seasoned and emerging experts in hospital management in Jiangsu Province. They referred to recent hospital management books and materials, combined their practical experience in creating basic modern hospitals and hospital level assessment across the province, as well as their personal management expertise, to compile this work.
