Features: Radiotherapy is one of the youngest disciplines in the medical field, founded on the discovery of radium and X-rays, with a history of less than a century. Radiotherapy is also a discipline with a broad foundation, and its development is greatly influenced by other disciplines, especially biology, physics, and new technologies. The importance of interdisciplinary fields in clinical radiotherapy work is becoming increasingly evident. The compilation of this book is primarily intended to provide middle-aged and young physicians in the radiotherapy department with relatively sufficient and practical basic knowledge of radiobiology, serving as a useful reference for their clinical work. It serves not only as supplementary material for continuing education for employed professionals but also as an exploration in the field of quality-oriented education. The book attempts to focus on information and data from recent international sources to provide material for knowledge updates in clinical radiotherapy work, enabling it to enter a virtuous cycle of closely integrated theory and practice, driven by abundant new information, technologies, and concepts from both domestic and international fields, and to pursue sustainable development in the advancement of this discipline. Due to the faster progress in the basic disciplines of radiotherapy compared to clinical medicine, the pace of advancement in radiotherapy has been extraordinary. This requires us to actively and skillfully learn, striving to keep pace. The literature and data introduced in this book are not limited to knowledge that has achieved widespread consensus. The author hopes that after fully understanding the basic situation, everyone can seize the opportunity to actively participate in the innovation of technology and theory from the perspective of clinical work, seize the opportunity to master and explore the forefront of this discipline, and make contributions, thereby providing better services for cancer patients. Due to the personal academic level of the compilers, there may inevitably be errors and omissions in the content of this book. We sincerely invite experts, scholars, and readers to criticize and correct them. With 43 years of medical experience, including 23 years in the field of radiotherapy, any progress I have made is thanks to the enthusiastic guidance, cultivation, and the care and help of teachers and predecessors both domestically and internationally, as well as my colleagues. Here, I extend my deepest gratitude to them.
