Patient's question:
I got married last year. Recently, I've been experiencing lower abdominal pain, especially during my period. I'm very worried about it affecting my fertility, and I'm also extremely sensitive to cold and coldness. Could you please tell me if breast massage can help with milk production?Doctor's answer:
Very helpful, proper breast massage not only benefits breast health but is also very beneficial for postpartum milk production. Before massaging, apply a warm compress. Soak a towel in warm water, wring it to half-dry, and fold a long towel in half to wrap around the breast. It's best to have two towels ready to alternate using to maintain warmth. After about 15 minutes of warm compress, start the massage. The massage methods are as follows:Circular Massage: Place both hands on the upper and lower parts of the breast, with fingers clenched together. Push forward in small circles, gradually moving from the breast root to the areola and nipple along the direction of breast growth. After moving the hands in a clockwise direction, continue the massage until the entire breast is covered.
Spiral Massage: Support the breast with one hand, and place the index and middle fingers of the other hand on the upper part of the breast. Massage in small circles from the breast root to the nipple. Then, repeat the same massage on the side and lower part of the breast.
Pressure Massage: Open both hands and place the fingers on both sides of the breast. Squeeze downward.
