Features: The "Rules of Competition for Chinese Rowing" (2004) is revised based on the 1995 edition, incorporating the "Rules of Competition of the International Rowing Federation" (2003 version) and reflecting the actual development of rowing in China. The new rules have introduced several updates in line with changes in the International Rowing Federation's rules, such as weight regulations for lightweight rowers and coxswains, weight checks for racing boats, starting procedures and commands, and time trials. However, in aspects like clothing and equipment advertising, the rules differ from international standards to suit China's practical conditions. During the writing process, we adopted a method of summarization and to include practices from Chinese rowing competitions that align with international norms while also being suitable for China's context, aiming to promote the healthy development of rowing in China. In terms of expression, we have strived to adhere to the linguistic conventions of Chinese. Strict adherence to the rules is a shared requirement for all competition organizers and participants to ensure the smooth conduct of events. Whether fairness, openness, and impartiality are maintained during the competition is a key criterion for evaluating its success. Therefore, we hope that coaches, athletes, referees, and other practitioners and enthusiasts of rowing will study these rules diligently, continuously improve their professional qualities, and enhance their understanding of the principles of rowing, thereby further advancing the development of rowing in China.
