Features: Restorative justice represents a return to a traditional, deeply rooted, yet obscured judicial theory, now brought back into the light. Its re-emergence in the contemporary era and the broad impact it demonstrates bring hope for the future of criminal justice. Restorative justice is good, emphasizing understanding, forgiveness, shame, and compassion; it is warm, focusing on the communication of the heart and embodying a strong sense of humanistic care. The academic mission of the Center for Restorative Justice is to systematically introduce the theory and practice of restorative justice in countries that have adopted this approach to China. From the perspective of restorative justice, it conducts comprehensive research and exploration of China's current criminal justice system, as well as the ongoing criminal justice reforms, and proposes a series of rational reform recommendations. The ultimate goal is to promote the development of the rule of law and human rights in China's criminal justice field, advance the modernization of China's criminal legal system, and contribute its modest efforts to the construction of a harmonious society in China.
