What disease is it when there is a large amount of abnormal white discharge with a curd-like consistency?

Patient's question:

I'm sorry, I've had abnormal white discharge these past few days, it's like curd, and the amount is quite a lot. Starting today, I've also felt some itching. What could be the cause of this?

Doctor's answer:

In your case, it might be a fungal vaginal infection. Patients with fungal vaginal infection typically experience increased vaginal discharge, itching and burning sensation in the external genitalia and vagina, painful urination, and often redness and swelling around the external genitalia. The skin changes can vary widely; they may develop very shallow blisters and papules in clusters, or form eczema-like erosions that are limited to the external genitalia or extend to the perineum, around the anus, and into the groin folds, resembling acute or subacute eczema completely. The labia and the area near the clitoris may show thickened mucosa, with reddened and eroded skin surfaces where the skin rubs together. In some cases, it can cause small white pustules, and in severe cases, ulcers, pain in the external genitalia, and local lymph node enlargement. A solution of sodium bicarbonate can be used for external washing, which may be somewhat effective.
