Features: The long narrative "Secret Train" narrated by the renowned storytelling artist Tian Zhanyi tells the story of Guo Yan, a scale operator and Communist Party member at Beijing's Qianmen Railway Station in 1942, who, under the leadership of the Party's Jin-Cha-Oi Railway Work Committee, skillfully protected his superiors. In 1978, he joined the Storytelling Troupe of the China Railway Cultural Troupe as a professional storytelling artist, also apprenticing under the renowned storytelling artist Yuan Kuo to further hone his skills. Since 1982, he has collaborated with others like Shen Yongnian to create long narrative stories such as "Secret Train," "Hu Men Xiao Yan," "Lin Xiangqian," "Republic of China Chronicles," "Palace Secrets," "Great Wall Treasure Hunt," "Li Zicheng," "Top Secret Mission," and "New Interpretations of Ancient Books—Comprehensive Mirror to the Times."
For his achievements in narrating modern history stories, experts such as Wang Jingshou, Wang Jue, and Zeng Huijie have written in the book "Eastern Cultural Integration" and "Discussions on Chinese Storytelling Art," in the section "Commentaries by Renowned Artists," that: "Tian Zhanyi is one of the most accomplished storytellers of modern history narratives in recent years."
