Due to work requirements, he took correspondence courses at the History Department of Liaoning University, graduating in 1961.
Shan Tianfang has been engaged in the art of storytelling for over forty years, having performed one hundred and three ancient and modern stories. Since 1978, he has published forty-three types of storytelling. He has recorded over seventy stories for radio stations and television stations. Starting in 1994, he also ventured into the filming and creation of television dramas. Today, Shan Tianfang is not only still sharp and energetic but also continues to contribute more to cultural causes.
