Features: In the social and economic life, reputation is a topic very familiar to people. The great ancient thinker Confucius once said, "When interacting with friends, speak with sincerity." "With sincerity, people will trust you." Reputation is not innate; it is a product of the long-term development of human society. With the continuous development of the market economy, the expansion and enrichment of exchange methods and content, the role of reputation in exchange is becoming increasingly prominent. Without it, economic life cannot proceed even a single step. This book employs the methods of Marxist dialectical materialism and historical materialism to conduct a specialized and systematic economic analysis of the historical origins, institutional foundations, economic functions, and external environments of reputation. Starting from the perspective of a "social rational person," it integrates the moral and economic interests of individuals in the economic field, making it closer to the characteristics and essence of real human reputation behavior. The author argues that reputation behavior in the economic field is determined by its "reputation capability," which is the unity of economic rationality and the influence of the external institutional environment.
