Features: The Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region was established on May 11, 1947, as the th autonomous region in China. It borders eight provinces and autonomous regions, with a total area of over 1.1 million square kilometers. To the north, it shares a 4,200-kilometer border with Russia and Mongolia.
