1. This dictionary is primarily designed for middle school students, but can also be used by Chinese language teachers in primary and secondary schools, college students, and a wide range of readers self-studying Chinese.
2. This dictionary compiles over 3,000 commonly used idioms from primary and secondary school Chinese textbooks and daily life, all in the standard four-character format. It does not include colloquial expressions, proverbs, or yàhòuyǔ (pun-based idioms). For idioms with the same meaning but different forms, they are standardized based on common usage, with the more frequently used ones as entries and the less common ones omitted. In cases where it is difficult to determine the primary entry, the distinction is noted in the [Note] section of the explanation without creating separate entries. However, idioms with different structures, parts of speech, or usage are treated as separate entries.
