Features: Huanggang High School, founded in 1904 in Huanggang, Hubei Province, was designated as a key high school in Hubei Province in 1953 and was awarded the title of "Advanced Unit in the National Education System" in 1986. In 2002, it was recognized as an "Advanced Unit in National Spiritual Civilization Construction."
Huanggang High School upholds the educational philosophy of "people-oriented, with virtue as the foundation," forming a distinctive approach to nurturing students that emphasizes "comprehensive development with special talents." It has explored a teaching style characterized by "seeking truth, striving for excellence, embracing diversity, and pursuing innovation." The outstanding performance in college entrance exams and competitions is a natural outcome of its long-term implementation of quality education, and only one aspect of its abundant teaching achievements.
When it comes to cultivating students, what magic formula does Huanggang High School possess? What power does it have to turn sand into a tower? What ability does it have to turn stone into gold? These are questions I often hear. To think that Huanggang High School merely follows the (command) of college entrance exams and passively engages in test-taking is incorrect. Huanggang High School does not advocate rote memorization or passive problem-solving. If it has any exceptional qualities, it lies in its ability to fully grasp the intent of test-setters and deeply understand their underlying principles, positioning itself as a leader rather than a blind follower.
Huanggang High School does not oppose teachers immersing themselves in a sea of problems but strongly advocates that students break free from it. It opposes students doing mechanical, simple, repetitive, and monotonous exercises but requires them to complete necessary ones. We encourage students to tackle flexible and diverse problems with broad applications, allowing them to enrich their knowledge, develop skills, and enhance their qualities through the process of problem-solving.
If Huanggang High School has any other successes, it is that while cultivating and nurturing a large number of outstanding students, it has also forged a strong team of teachers, creating renowned master teachers in Hubei Province. These teachers possess deep scientific and cultural literacy, innovative educational concepts, unique teaching styles, artistic flair, and remarkable teaching achievements.
To showcase the talents of Huanggang High School teachers and share their teaching results, we have organized the core teaching staff from the school to meticulously plan and compile three series of books: "Huanggang High School Homework Books," "Huanggang High School Exam Papers," and "Huanggang High School 2006 College Entrance Exam Second and Third Round Training Questions." The "Huanggang High School 2006 College Entrance Exam Second and Third Round Training Questions" series adopts a "full simulation" format to highlight its features. Whether in open-ended or conventional question types, the quantity and difficulty of the problems are designed to closely align with the college entrance exams, emphasizing innovation and practicality.
Targeting the different time periods and characteristics of the first, second, and third rounds of college entrance exam review, we have positioned the first-round training questions as unit exercises, the second-round training questions as thematic exercises, and the third-round training questions as simulated tests. This allows for a comprehensive, progressive approach to addressing the problems students encounter during the third round of review from three perspectives and levels.
Part of the content in this series is derived from internal teaching materials and exchanges with friendly schools, while the other part consists of newly added materials based on recent changes in college entrance exam questions, now compiled and published for the first time. This series also reflects the following editorial philosophy and features:
1. Appropriate exercise positioning: In terms of exercise arrangement, this series focuses on reinforcing and progressively improving the knowledge points, question types, and methods relevant to the exam. The complexity and difficulty of the problems are designed to gradually approach the college entrance exams in a progressive manner.
2. Detailed solution hints: The answers at the end of the book are appropriately detailed, with more in-depth solutions provided for difficult problems. The well-placed hints throughout the series often serve as the finishing touch.
This series emphasizes the originality and quality of the authors' questions, with rigorous review and proofreading at every stage, striving to become a gem in the supplementary education market.
