Theoretical System. At the macro level, the book constructs a basic analytical framework for development education theory, which serves as the logical framework of the book. At the micro level, it uses three core categories of higher education development—appropriateness, quality, and internationalization—as the logical link connecting development theory, development concept, and development strategy, thereby establishing their intrinsic relationships.
Theoretical Concepts. It primarily defines concepts such as development, higher education development theory, and higher education development strategy from the perspective of development studies, thereby establishing a conceptual system for the domain of higher education development.
Theoretical Perspectives. It clarifies the relevance of development theory to higher education development research; proposes the integration of modern higher education’s pluralistic development concepts and their pathways under the guidance of development education theory; identifies the basic functions of modern higher education development concepts; and, under the basic analytical framework of development education theory, summarizes the basic characteristics of modern higher education development strategies from three dimensions: international, national, and local. At the same time, it proposes new insights and perspectives on the development of higher education in Guangdong from the perspective of structure-function.
