Features: The vocabulary selected for this textbook (Second Edition) mainly consists of words from Level B and above in the "Outline for Chinese Language Proficiency Vocabulary and Character Grades" published by the Office of the National Advisory Committee on Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages. Level A words and some commonly used Level B words are not included as vocabulary. Based on the original textbook, this new edition has undergone certain modifications to some lessons and has added new ones, expanding from the original two volumes to the current three volumes. The three volumes together contain 52 lessons. The lessons revolve around scenarios students might encounter in learning and daily life, featuring vivid and natural spoken dialogues to meet the needs of readers. The textbook strives for breakthroughs and innovation, emphasizing the characteristics of a speaking textbook, which are reflected in the following aspects:
First, several main characters run through the entire textbook, each with distinct personality traits, allowing characters of different personalities to speak in different styles. At the same time, overly Beijing-centric colloquial vocabulary has been appropriately adjusted to suit users from various regions.
Second, attention is paid to social trends, ing outdated or language and "looking forward" when arranging lesson content and language, incorporating introductions to emerging social phenomena and related conversational content into the lessons. In terms of format, an "Statement Comprehension" section has been added, providing examples and explanations for colloquial statements that are difficult to understand solely from the literal meaning.
Third, many lively and diverse exercise formats have been added. A large number of practical exercises are arranged in a progressive manner, shifting the focus from "word-based" to "sentence-based" exercises, with an emphasis on situational dialogues to teach students how to express themselves appropriately in different scenarios.
Fourth, systematic explanations of spoken language knowledge are provided, summarizing frequently used spoken language phenomena in a comparative manner, covering aspects from spoken pronunciation to spoken grammar.
Fifth, supplementary common spoken expressions are included. At the end of each unit, a "Common Spoken Expressions" section is set up, categorizing and appropriately summarizing frequently used communicative language in spoken contexts to help students understand different ways of expressing themselves in the same scenario.
