This book selects 13 outstanding works from new publications in 2005, totaling approximately 300,000 words, combining storytelling, scientific rigor, and entertainment. Human Rearing, Born with Talent, World of Pets, and The Bankruptcy of a "Wife" Manufacturer reveal a profound melancholy about the future of humanity. When technological advancement turns people into tools and pets, where is humanity's path forward? Lament, Dream Boundless are filled with idealistic optimism, while A Life's Story, The Wounded Tree, and Carmen focus more on fantasy and emotion, presenting another side of science fiction creation. The editors of this book are authoritative scholars in the study of contemporary Chinese science fiction. The Preface provides a scientific analysis of the current state of science fiction novels, offering a feast of contemporary science fiction creation.
