Features: IPv6, as the core protocol of the next-generation internet, offers vast address capacity and various new features that can meet the rapidly evolving demands of the internet. With the maturation and development of the IPv6 protocol suite, there is an inevitable need for rapidly evolving requirements related to IPv6. As the IPv6 protocol suite matures and develops, it necessitates the existence of routing protocols related to IPv6. Originally, routing protocols based on IPv4 required corresponding extensions, while other protocols were entirely redefined to become entirely new routing protocols. Based on the knowledge of IPv6 and the nature of routing protocols, this book is divided into four parts: Part 1, Chapters 1-5, primarily introduces the basic knowledge of next-generation networks, the IPv6 protocol suite, various routers, and routing technologies, laying a foundation for further reading. Part 2, Chapters 6-8, primarily introduces internal gateway routing protocols for IPv6, including RIPng, OSPFv3, and IS-ISv6. Part 3, Chapters 9 and 10, primarily introduces the external gateway routing protocol for IPv6, BGP-4. Part 4, Chapters 11-13, covers the control and application of routing, including the selection of routing policies during actual network design and deployment, the selection and deployment of routing protocols in different IPv6 network environments, and various transition technologies and implementations from IPv4 to IPv6. This book is comprehensive, covering all major routing protocols in next-generation networks. At the same time, the book emphasizes the integration of theory and practical applications, introducing both the fundamental principles of protocols and actual operations on routers. Therefore, this book can serve as a textbook or reference for undergraduate and graduate students in computer science, communication, electronics, and information-related fields to learn the principles and implementation of IPv6 routing technology. It can also be used as a training manual for professionals in the networking industry, as well as a reference for telecom operators, telecom equipment manufacturers, internet service providers, and management personnel.
