Features: Linear algebra is a public basic course in higher education. With the widespread application of computers and the rapid development of high technology, as the foundation of discrete quantities, the linear algebra course requires even stronger emphasis and improvement. This book is written according to the basic requirements for the linear algebra course formulated by the National Committee for the Guidance of Engineering Mathematics Courses in Higher Education and the relevant provisions of the National Entrance Examination Syllabus for Master's Degree Candidates in Mathematics. The first six chapters cover determinants, matrices, z-dimensional vector spaces, systems of linear equations, eigenvalues and eigenvectors, and quadratic forms. The first three chapters focus on introducing the operational tools and fundamental theories of linear algebra, while the last three chapters, building on the previous content, can be handled more simply, enabling students to quickly grasp important issues in linear algebra. Based on the editors' many years of teaching experience and insights, we believe this arrangement is both convenient for teaching and logically sound. Chapter 7 provides an introduction to linear spaces and linear transformations. Linear spaces and linear transformations are the main parts of linear algebra, and we believe readers should be familiar with these two fundamental concepts to facilitate the connection with relevant courses for master's degree candidates. If constrained by class hours and considering the depth of the course, this chapter can be omitted. This book can serve as a trial teaching material or reference book for undergraduate engineering students in higher education institutions (32–40 class hours) taking the linear algebra course.
