History of Contemporary Chinese Literature

Author: Hong Zicheng
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2000-05-01
Features: As a textbook for university liberal arts, this book cannot pursue comprehensiveness and thoroughness in the complex literary phenomena that have occurred in the past fifty years and the numerous works of writers. At the same time, it does not consider "comprehensiveness" or "thoroughness" to be a form of literary work, and thus cannot pursue it. From the perspective of teaching requirements, the main focus of this book's commentary is on the meanings of important writers' works. For literary creation, the book primarily reviews traditional poetry, fiction, drama, and prose, while also covering report literature, biographical literature, film and television literature, and science fiction literature. The selection and treatment of specific literary phenomena reflect the literary historiography of the compiler and the unavoidable value judgment standards. As an appendix, the literary chronology primarily reflects the activities of writers and the discovery of their works during this period, but it also takes into account the important literary movements in fiction.
