Features: Huanggang High School, founded in 1904 in Huanggang, Hubei Province, was designated as a key high school in Hubei Province in 1953 and awarded the title of "Advanced Unit in the Education System of China" in 1986. In 2002, it was recognized as an "Advanced Unit in the Construction of Spiritual Civilization in China." Huanggang High School upholds the educational philosophy of "people-oriented, virtue-based education" and has developed a distinctive approach to nurturing students with both comprehensive abilities and specialized talents. It has explored a teaching style characterized by "seeking truth, refinement, novelty, and innovation." The outstanding performance in college entrance exams and competitions is a natural outcome of its long-term implementation of quality-oriented education and merely one aspect of its abundant teaching achievements.
When it comes to cultivating students, what magic formula does Huanggang High School possess? What ability does it have to turn sand into a tower? What skill does it have to turn stone into gold? These are questions I often hear. To think that Huanggang High School merely follows the of the college entrance exams and passively engages in test-taking is incorrect. Huanggang High School does not advocate rote memorization or passive problem-solving. If it has any exceptional qualities, it lies in its ability to fully grasp the intent of examiners and deeply understand the underlying principles, positioning itself as a leader rather than a blind follower.
Huanggang High School does not oppose teachers immersing themselves in a sea of problems but strongly advocates that students break free from it. It opposes students from doing mechanical, simple, repetitive, and tedious exercises but requires them to complete essential ones. We encourage students to tackle flexible and diverse problems with broad applications, allowing them to enrich their knowledge, develop their abilities, and enhance their qualities through the process of problem-solving.
If Huanggang High School has any other successes, it is that while cultivating and nurturing a large number of outstanding students, it has also forged a strong team of teachers, including renowned educators celebrated in Hubei Province. These teachers possess profound scientific and cultural literacy, innovative educational concepts, unique teaching styles, artistic flair, and remarkable teaching achievements.
To showcase the talents of Huanggang High School teachers and share their teaching results, we have organized and carefully planned the writing of three series of books: "Huanggang High School Homework Books," "Huanggang High School Exam Papers," and "Huanggang High School 2006 College Entrance Exam First and Second Round Training Materials." The "Huanggang High School 2006 College Entrance Exam First and Second Round Training Materials" series adopts a "full simulation" format to highlight its features. The number and difficulty of both open-ended and conventional problems are designed to closely align with the college entrance exams, emphasizing innovation and practicality.
To address the different time periods and characteristics of the first, second, and third rounds of college entrance exam preparation, we have categorized the training materials as follows: the first-round exercises are designed as unit practice, the second-round exercises as thematic practice, and the third-round exercises as simulated tests. This allows for a comprehensive, progressive solution to the problems students encounter during the third-round review.
Part of the content of this series is derived from internal teaching materials and exchanges with friendly schools, while the other part consists of newly updated materials based on recent changes in college entrance exam questions. These books are now compiled and published for the first time, making their debut publicly.
This series also reflects the following writing philosophy and features:
1. Appropriate exercise positioning: In terms of exercise arrangement, this series focuses on reinforcing and gradually improving the knowledge points, exam topics, and methods relevant to the curriculum. The complexity and difficulty of the exercises are designed to progressively approach the level of the college entrance exams.
2. Detailed solution hints: The answers at the end of the book are appropriately detailed, with more in-depth solutions provided for challenging problems. The well-placed hints in the series often serve as a guiding light.
This series emphasizes the originality and quality of the authors' questions, with rigorous review and proofreading at every stage, striving to become a unique gem in the educational supplement market.
