Features: This book is based on the 1979 revised and annotated first edition of Three Hundred Song Lyrics from the Song Dynasty, compiled by Shangjiang Village and annotated by Tang Guizhang. According to the preface of Tang's annotated edition, the author of Yi Wangsun is corrected from Li Jia to Li Chongyuan, and the author of Qing Yu'an is corrected from Huang Gongshao to an anonymous. This book uniformly refers to the Imperially Appointed Lyric Patterns and labels the numerous "Mulan Hua" lyric forms used by Qian Weiyan, Yan Shu, Ouyang Xiu, Yan Jidao, Yan Ren, Liu Kuzhuang, and others as "Yulouchun." For some original texts, punctuation, or line breaks that are difficult to align with the meaning or violate the rules of lyric composition, the entire piece is revised according to Complete Lyrics of the Song Dynasty or Imperially Appointed Lyric Patterns.
The format of this book begins with an introduction to the author, followed by the listing of their works. From beginning to end, each lyric is numbered sequentially for easy reference. Each lyric is accompanied by three sections: lyric pattern, annotations, and analysis of intent and composition, allowing for comprehensive appreciation and writing according to the pattern. The lyric rules adopted in this book are based on Imperially Appointed Lyric Patterns. The rhyme checks follow Gē Zai's Corrections of Lyric Rhymes and contemporary common lyric rhymes. The symbols used in the lyric pattern section are standardized within circles, with hollow parts representing level tones and solid parts representing oblique tones. In the annotations section, to avoid repetition, later entries are marked as "see ×th lyric, note ×."
