Features: This book uses magnetic resonance methods to display anatomical images of the heart, coronary arteries, and related intra-thoracic blood vessels. All images are obtained using new magnetic resonance techniques—steady-state free precession (SSFP) imaging with balanced gradient sequences. The imaging equipment employs a 1.5T whole-body magnetic resonance system with a gradient strength of 40 mT/m and a switching rate of 150 mT/(M·ms), equipped with electrocardiogram-gated technology and phased-array coils. The planes displayed in the images include the standard transaxial, sagittal, and coronal views of the thorax, as well as the standard four-chamber and two-chamber long-axis views of the heart, the long-axis views of the left ventricular inflow/outflow tract, the short-axis views, and the valve plane. Since cardiac magnetic resonance is used to evaluate coronary arteries, particularly to assess whether the coronary arteries are abnormal, the book includes images of the coronary arteries with normal anatomical structures. Additionally, the images of the blood perfusion regions of the heart are displayed using delayed enhancement contrast and inversion-recovery T1-weighted gradient echo sequences.
