Features: Viral hepatitis is a globally distributed infectious disease. Currently, over 300 million people worldwide carry hepatitis viruses, with more than 2 million dying from the disease each year. China is one of the severely affected regions for hepatitis, with incomplete statistics indicating that over 100 million people in the country suffer from hepatitis or carry hepatitis viruses. Many of these individuals may progress from carriers to acute or chronic hepatitis, further developing into cirrhosis or even liver cancer. It can be said that no other disease has impacted the study, work, and lives of Chinese people as widely and profoundly as hepatitis. In recent years, the number of liver disease patients has increased in our clinical practice, particularly in severe necrotizing hepatitis and liver cancer. These patients often have critical conditions, multiple complications, and complex and challenging diagnosis and treatment. Despite the efforts of clinicians, the mortality rate from liver diseases remains high. On the other hand, due to misunderstandings or prejudices in society, patients and their families often develop fear and rejection of hepatitis, leading to delayed diagnosis and treatment. In light of this, it is very necessary to popularize science-related knowledge about liver diseases to help patients and their families correctly understand hepatitis and improve their ability to treat and prevent the disease. "Illustrated Guide to Overcoming Hepatitis" is one of the medical science popularization series "Expert Clinic at Home" published by Jiangsu Science and Technology Publishing House. This book introduces basic concepts, prevention, and care knowledge of hepatitis to a broad readership through more than 100 small questions, covering five aspects: basic knowledge, clinical symptoms, examination and diagnosis, treatment measures, and prevention and health care. The book strives to use vivid, lively, and accurate language, with in-depth yet easy-to-understand explanations, emphasizing scientific rigor, practicality, and readability. For the complex pathogenesis of liver diseases and intricate academic concepts, the book only provides brief descriptions without elaboration. However, it elaborates extensively on liver disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, care, and nutrition, which are relevant to the general public, hoping to help readers develop a correct understanding of hepatitis after reading the book. This includes knowing how to self-manage, how to seek medical attention, how to provide home care, and gaining a basic understanding of traditional and Western medications for preventing and treating hepatitis. Modern medicine is advancing rapidly, with new research findings constantly emerging. A small book cannot encompass everything, and shortcomings and errors are inevitable. We sincerely welcome criticism and corrections from our readers! During the writing process of this book, relevant data and materials were referenced from domestic and international literature. Due to space constraints, it was not possible to cite all sources. Here, we extend our gratitude to the relevant authors!
