Features: Currently, most floral designers in major hotels across China come from abroad or are graduates of international floral schools, while domestic training in this field is still in its early stages. Faced with a booming demand market, many domestic floral practitioners and flower shops have recognized this opportunity and are eager to compete. However, hotel operators have high expectations, and most domestic floral designers lack relevant practical experience and are far from reaching the required level of floral artistry, especially since there is a scarcity of reference materials on this topic. As a result, many graduates from our floral training class have provided feedback after entering the workforce, expressing a strong desire for guidance in this area. As a floral artist working in a developed region of China, the author had the privilege of early involvement in this industry. Due to poor photography equipment at the time, clear visual records were not preserved. In recent years, we have intensified our efforts in this area, systematically compiling and organizing floral artworks from hotels and hotels. The collected materials have now been compiled into this book, using case studies and practical examples to provide guidance for beginners and reference for fellow professionals.
The main floral arrangement in the lobby serves as the face of the hotel and the focal point to attract guests' attention. The lobby floral arrangements popular in Western hotels originated from home lobby arrangements, traditionally featuring multi-colored floral materials arranged in hemispherical or conical shapes designed for four-way viewing. In recent years, influenced by modern art trends, many new floral styles have emerged. This book focuses on introducing some modern floral techniques. Additionally, the book provides detailed descriptions of floral arrangements in various public spaces within hotels and hotels, such as reception desks, secondary service counters, business centers, staircases, and entrances. Due to space limitations, floral arrangements for dining rooms, meeting rooms, and guest rooms will be covered in a separate volume.
During the collection of materials, we have made every effort to include floral artworks from star-rated hotels and hotels in major cities across northern and southern China. However, due to the urgency of time and limited resources, the coverage is not yet comprehensive. Nevertheless, to address the urgent needs of our readers, this book has been published in haste, serving as a stepping stone to inspire further exploration in this field.
