Features: Calligraphy art is a cultural treasure of the Chinese nation. Since the reform and opening-up, the popularity of calligraphy has surged, with learners spanning the country. The enthusiasm for calligraphy among the elderly is particularly heartening, which sufficiently demonstrates that calligraphy art is deeply loved by the people. I have been engaged in calligraphy teaching since the early 1990s of the last century. Through more than two decades of teaching practice, I have come to realize that mastering running script is the most challenging aspect of learning calligraphy. Among these, one must study the "Running Script of the Two Prefaces" by the "Sage of Calligraphy" Wang Xizhi. The "Preface to the Holy Teaching" contains more characters and is basically structured around the "Preface to the Orchid Pavilion," which has ninety characters in total. Additionally, including the repeated characters, there are approximately two hundred character occurrences.
