Features: This book is an academic collection exploring the origins of ancient Chinese civilization and its historical culture, delving into a series of cultural history issues such as the origins of civilization and the state, Dongyi culture, Liangzhu civilization, totem culture, Shang-Zhou capitals, and more. The collection is divided into two parts. The first part, "Early States and the Origins of Civilization," can be cross-referenced with my doctoral dissertation, published in 1994 by Shaanxi People's Publishing House as Comparative Studies on the Origins of Chinese Civilization. The second part, "Clan Culture and Religious Worship," gathers twelve articles on clan culture and religious worship. Given that the concept of civilization is rich and diverse, it encompasses both cultural and social dimensions, hence the inclusion of clan culture and religious content in this collection aligns with its title. In summary, research on ancient Chinese civilization should not only involve theoretical reflection and innovation but also be grounded in corresponding specific studies. In specific research, attention should be paid to the regional civilizations and various aspects of civilizational connotations across different regions.
