1-3 Level tests all adopt a question-and-answer format, covering topics related to students' study and life, such as personal background, family, hometown, campus life, hobbies, and social issues.
Part 2 of the 1st Level test is short passage reading. The book provides 30 passages, each with 140-160 words, with difficulty comparable to or slightly lower than that of college English textbooks. The genres mainly include narrative and expository texts, with some formal and others more conversational. The content includes fables, humorous stories, and short science articles.
Part 2 of the 2-3 Level tests is picture description. The book provides 30 carefully designed, scenario-diverse pictures, covering family life, social life, campus life, and study. The topics are familiar to students and closely related to their study and life.
Part 3 of 1-3 Levels is situational dialogue, assessing whether students can engage in appropriate communication and discussion on "general daily-life scenarios."
The 4th Level test follows the format of the National College English Test Band 4 and 6 Oral English Examination. The test consists of three parts: Q&A, card (picture) description, and group discussion with Q&A.
